Resetting Alexa's Devices

As of 14Sep23 this list is out of date and needs correcting.

Alexa controls a number of lights and switches that control lights in the house at 14992, and, potentially, at the Community Center. Typically, one operates a device by say 'Alexa, [ device name ] [ ON / OFF ].'

1. Dining lights ( a group of lights over the 1st floor dining table - Phillips )
2. Walkway lights ( a switch controlling low voltage lights along the walkway - HBN Smartplug )
3. Night lights ( a group consisting of the below )
   1. West lights ( 1st floor strip lights - Kasa )
   2. Hanging lamp ( 2nd floor SW corner - Govee )
   3. Ceiling light ( 2nd floor SE corner - Govee )
   4. Bathroom light ( 2nd floor bathroom - smartplug Kasa )
4. Bedroom light ( bedroom ceiling - Phillips )
5. Stairway lights ( strip lights - Wemo )
6. West Outside light ( ? outdoor spots - Wemo? )

 

Restart procedures (for after internet outage if devices fail to reconnect)

• Hanging lamp ( Govee H6086 ): delete offending device from Govee app, then prepare to add new; plug in 5 seconds, out 2 seconds, repeat until flashing, then follow app prompts to reinstall using original name.
