M-77Rochelle presented me with my 2021 birthday card – reminiscent of 2017, same day, same island.
Inspected the house next door, at auction next month, no reserve, but valued at $8.95 million. We decided not to buy it, although with four anchialine ponds, a lovely Ohana pod, and a short term rental permit, it would be a nice thing to have.

Nice long walk along the shore with Devan. Saw two turtles contending for the same pull-out, then the little one (who lost) seemed to be curious about us standing in the water watching. A night heron. A whole school of juvenile Convict fish. Another turtle. Some interesting houses.

Devan wondered about these worm casts. Just happened that I saw a picture of the resident on the BBC this morning (with apologies to Ross McLaren: this, below, is a Scotland worm.)
Wonderful long snorkel out to the edge with Sienna and Damiana. |

Interesting to note how well our eyes pick out fish, but the GoPro sees little.
Below, two different kinds of urchins in a crack in the lava rock. |

By way of supporting local cottage industry, Rochelle ordered a birthday cake from a local fancy cake baker. Wow! |
