Anini Beach 24 July 2017

1599 : 316

We awoke to the rattling of rain. There had been lightning during the night, far out, no thunder. When we looked at the weather, we concluded this was going to be an inside morning and likely a cloudy day. Our forecast was right: heavy rain intermittently all morning and well into the afternoon. We read, ate fruit, went shopping in a squall so intense we couldn't see the other side of Kalihiwai Bay when we went out to the Anaina Hou Tuesday market (three vendors) and a visit with Kathleen at the Kilauea Bakery. (Great chai.)

Oh, well, it's what keeps Kauai green. This time of year, we expect one out of five days like this.

1600 : 310

Back home about 4pm (high tide) we went down and bobbed around in the gentle surf, walked the beach at the edge of the waves. Rochelle said, "I love this beach! I could stay here for every day that's left."
