Rochelle and I walked west on Anini Road past the polo grounds and the (apparently) Egret Legislature. Here we see prominent Egrets from all over Kauai conversing about the state of the frogs and bugs. |

We walked on past what we all glowingly remember as Sterling's house, where we have stayed twice on previous Anini Beach visits. The beach in front of Sterling's was busy with folks. I want to try snorkeling there, maybe Saturday morning before the throngs arrive. Rochelle and I walked back down the beach, through the County Park, to our "private" end of the beach, where Chad and family were industriously building a sand castle for the ages (or for one high tide, whichever comes first.) We wallowed in the cool water and watched the girls paddle happily about, then came home to a quiet afternoon. |

We're in training for a VERY early awakening tomorrow. We're s'posed to board the catamaran in Hanalei Bay for a ride down the Na Pali tomorrow morning at 6:45. Good night. |
