Later the first day, we rode the London Eye. Then we found our way out to Muswell Hill via tube and bus at rush hour, where we found our Servas hosts ready for us.

On our second London day, we started out at The Tower. We arrived before the crowds and went straight for the Jewels.	Where they keep the Crown Jewels
The Sovereign's Sceptre, 1661 click for larger (129k) image	It wasn't crowded in the main jewel room, and I was able to go around six times unhindered, walk backwards on the moving sidewalk, and really study the gems and settings. The workmanship is superb ... and, of course, the stones are awesome, the biggest and best in the world. After seeing this, the gruesome business of the Bloody Tower wasn't worth our attention. Chad took off for Wimbledon while Rochelle and I visited the White Tower, a marvellous Museum even if it is dedicated to the art of killing.
