Back to Silverton

With Rochelle's younger brother in Silverton, a quiet town off the main route through Oregon, in the foothills below Silver Falls State Park (a probable madhouse today, Labor Day Sunday).

East ride out of PDX this time, back to Silverton in 55 minutes with a stop for gas. The Portland daughter, husband, and grandchile came along for a mini family reunion. This much family is overwhelming for an only child like me, but I enjoy their spirit. It is a particular delight to see Rochelle surrounded by her family.

Went downtown to the park, then checked into a little coffee shop and had a soft pretzel and iced chai. Here's niece Jessica testing the ex-mayor's invention, the kiss-o-meter. And grandniece Isadora climbing and building a tower.

Dinner: Thai food ordered in. Then a boisterous round of 3-13. Rochelle won again.
